Nonprofits, regardless of their sector, provide valuable resources to the communities they serve. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many nonprofits are struggling to function. The national recession caused by the pandemic makes individuals less likely to donate, in-person events and galas are canceled, and the in-person services that these organizations provide are currently postponed.
Inspired by the Portland based newsletter, SixFeed, SevenFeed aims to highlight the important work that nonprofits continue to do during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our newsletter hopes to promote the services that these organizations do, expose the issues that the pandemic has caused these organizations, and the ways that these organizations have learned to overcome these challenges.
About Me
Hi, I’m Kari! This website started as a class project aimed to spread awareness for local and national nonprofits. I am a student at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Nonfiction Writing, minoring in Creative Writing, and working towards a certificate in Public & Professional Writing. Service is an important part of my life, in fact, when I was 17 I won a Presidential Service Award for completing over 100 hours of community service in one calendar year. I hope to educate people about the important role that nonprofits fill for the communities they serve and encourage people to support nonprofits.
